We will be checking the unique features and benefits of each carrier, such as coverage, plan options, price, device selection, customer service, and any other extra perks we may find on the way!

Comparing the advantages and disadvantages of AirVoice vs. Tracphone, we’ll leave no stone unturned, and this way we will be able to make not just an informed, but wise decision. Because choosing a carrier that isn’t compatible with us is like following a recipe without the right ingredients; the result won’t be delicious. So, let’s start and discover what carrier offers us the best value!

Carrier Overview

AirVoice and Tracphone are a reliable and well-established wireless carrier in the United States, that aim to a diverse range of consumers with their unique offerings.

Both are mobile virtual network operators (MVNO), which means they utilize other wireless networks to provide their service. So, you may wonder why would I choose them instead of a traditional carrier? Because these MVNOs can offer us some advantages that major carriers can’t, such as:

  • Cost-effective plans: MVNOs can provide us with cheaper alternatives.
  • No long-term commitments: With an MVNO we can enjoy the freedom of no-contract or prepaid plans.
  • More network coverage: MVNOs can utilize the infrastructure of a few carriers, allowing them to keep us covered.
  • Innovative features: MVNOs frequently provide innovative features and services to differentiate themselves, such as international calling options, customizable plans… etc.

After we know their common MVNOs benefits, Let’s got to know more about AirVoice vs Tracphone.

Now that we are equipped with a better understanding of the background and positioning of these two providers, let’s make a deep comparison of AirVoice vs Tracphone‘s main features.

Key Comparison Points

A. Network Coverage

One crucial factor we will be reviewing first is their coverage. This can make a difference in our daily lives as a robust and reliable network ensures us uninterrupted connectivity, enhances calls and data quality, and coverage regardless of our location. So, let’s take a closer look at how AirVoice vs. Tracphone stack up in this regard:

AirVoice Wireless:

  • AirVoice utilizes T-Mobile and AT&T networks, which are known for their widespread coverage and consistent signal strength.
  • According to independent industry reports, these two networks cover over 98% of the U.S. landmass, with a strong presence in both urban and rural areas.
  • Air Voices customers can expect 4G/5G+ LTE connectivity in most regions.

Tracphone:

  • Tracphone operates in three network providers, including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, to offer nationwide coverage.
  • Verizon allows Tracphone to provide more coverage in rural areas.
  • Their customers enjoy 4G/5G LTE coverage across most regions.

In this aspect, we can say that both can ensure us a seamless, consistent and reliable coverage network experience in most of the US territory. AirVoice and Tracphone are utilizing T-Mobile and AT&T networks, so they are great alternatives for most of us living in urban and suburban areas. However, Tracphone may offer a wider reach in rural areas thanks to their Verizon network.

Verizon network.

I created a list for you, as we also should consider the benefits that AirVoice 4G/5G+ LTE connectivity provides than just the Tracphone 4G/5G LTE coverage.

Better Connectivity:

  • 5G+ handles network congestion more efficiently. Ensuring smoother connectivity in crowded areas where thousands of phones compete for cellular service.
  • There are fewer slowdowns, making tasks like checking social media feel seamless, outbound calls connect faster, and incoming calls are less likely to go to voicemail.

Lower Latency:

  • Which means faster response times. This is important for gaming, virtual reality, and autonomous vehicles.
  • With reduced latency, our interactions feel instantaneous, enhancing our user experiences.

Improved Coverage:

  • While standard 5G networks may have limitations in certain areas, 5G+ coverage extends the reach, providing more comprehensive coverage.

And More:

  • 5G+ can power home internet connections, enabling smart home devices without the need for wired connections.
  • Opens new possibilities for new uses. It empowers the Internet of Things (IoT), connecting machines, gadgets, and objects.

B. Plan Options

Now that we have an idea about their coverage let’s check the flexibility and variety of AirVoice and Tracphone plan options.

AirVoice Wireless

  • Offers a diverse range of non-contract plans.
  • Plans start as low as $5.67 per month, for unlimited talk and text.
  • Offers Family plans, we can add up to 5, each it’s as customizable as our needs, and the more lines we add the better the discount we get.

 Tracphone

  • Tracphone boasts an extensive selection of prepaid plans.
  • Plans start at around $15 per month, for unlimited talk and text.
  • Doesn’t offer family plans.
  • Their plans don’t include international calling.
Trac plans

As we said both provide highly customizable plans, allowing us to tailor our service to our specific usage patterns and budget. Their plans range from basic talk and text to packages with unlimited talk, text, and data.

Let’s look at the price of the unlimited talk and text plans, where the data amounts vary. To help you visualize the options, I’ve created a comparison table for 1 and 12 months:

Per Month  GB  AirVoice  GB  Trackphone
  NO  $ 7  No  $15
  1  $ 10  2  $ 20
  3  $ 15  3  $ 25
  6  $ 20  5  $ 30
  10  $ 25  10  $ 40
  12  $ 30
  16  $ 35
  Unlimited  $ 45

Per 12 Months  GB  AirVoice  GB  Trackphone
  No  $ 5.83  No  $12
  1  $ 6.67  2  $16
  3  $ 12  3  $20
  6  $ 14.33  5  $24
  10  $ 19.17  10  $32
  12  $ 24.00
  16  $ 28.75
  Unlimited  $ 38.33

By looking at their monthly and annual prices, we already see that Air Voice offers way cheaper and more flexible options. With AirVoice we have more data amounts to choose from, while Trackphone offers is limited and it doesn’t even offer us unlimited data.

With AirVoice we can save half of the price to receive the same or in some cases even more GB. On the other hand, AirVoice also includes international calling which is cool, but if we want this feature with Trackphone we will need to buy a $10 Global Calling Card.

As we have already compared all the AirVoice vs. Tracphone unlimited plans, let’s see what happens when we need another quantity of talk and text minutes. AirVoice doesn’t have this option as all their plans come with unlimited Talk and Text, nevertheless, Trackphone offers 30 minutes for $9.99/month. But why would we choose this when we have unlimited talk and text, without data for $7/month from AirVoice?

C. Phone Selection

What is good coverage and cheap plan missing? Exactly! a good device where to use them. As the selection of devices is another crucial factor when choosing a service provider, we will take a closer look at the phone options offered by AirVoice vs.Tracphone.

AirVoice Wireless

  • AirVoice offers a wide range of smartphones, including the latest flagships from popular brands like Apple, Samsung, and Google.
  • Their selection also includes more affordable and mid-range options.
  • We can purchase from AirVoice, either outright or through flexible payment plans.
  • We can bring our own compatible device.

Tracphone

  • Tracphone’s selection is more focused on basic smartphones.
  • They offer a more limited number of models.
  • Their devices are typically sold outright, with limited or no financing options available.
  • We also have the chance to bring our own device, but the range of supported models is more limited than AirVoice.
Track Phones

Track Phones

By visiting their website, we can see that AirVoice offers a wider selection with hundreds of devices from well-known brands. They sell both new and refurbished smartphones, making their devices more affordable, as we can get cheaper prices than buying it new. Also, our kidney will be safe thanks to their payment flexibility options up to 12 months.

On the other hand, Trackphone selection is more limited, now on their website there are less than 50 models available. They also offer popular brands like Samsung, Apple, Google etc.., Most of their devices are new which makes the prices increase compared to AirVoice, their reconditioned phones are limited to less than 10, and most phones are basic and lacking the latest models. Plus, their absence of flexibility regarding payments may make them a not good option to get a new device.

D. Customer Service

Now that we have compared their coverage, price, and devices it’s time to see who will give us better customer service. As reliable and responsive communication with our service provider will affect directly our experience, let’s explore how AirVoice vs. Tracphone stack up in this aspect:

AirVoice Wireless

  • AirVoice ‘s customer support is available via phone, email, and online chat.
  • Their website provides a comprehensive knowledge base and FAQs to solve common issues.
  • Their customer service reputation is positive, with users reporting prompt and helpful responses to inquiries and concerns.
  • AirVoice offers in-person support through authorized retail locations.

Tracphone

  • Tracphone’s customer support is also available via phone, email, and online chat.
  • Their website offers a range of self-help resources, including a knowledge base and troubleshooting guides.
  • Tracphone reviews are mixed, with some users reporting longer wait times or less-than-satisfactory resolutions.
  • Tracphone’s in-person support is primarily limited to authorized retail partners, which may not be as readily available in all areas.

To summarize we can say that both carriers are doing great. We can contact their customer support online through three vias, both give online solutions to common problems, their customer support team reputation is good in general, being normal to have mixed reviews.

And finally, both are physically approachable in case we need further assistance. However, AirVoice stores can be easily found thanks to their store locator tool available online while it can be more difficult to find authorized retail Tracphone partners.

Choosing the Right Carrier

Now that we have thoroughly analyzed the key aspects of AirVoice vs. Tracphone, it’s time to determine which mobile service provider is the best fit for our specific preferences.

This time, I believe AirVoice is the best choice for most of us, due to:

  • Their wide coverage with T-Mobile and AT&T networks.
  • Flexible and customizable plan options.
  • Family plan
  • Flexible payment.
  • Wider and affordable phone selection.
  • Free International Calling to over 80 countries.
  • Excellent customer service.

However, as our individual needs and preferences may vary Tracphone can be the way to go if you:

  • Need network coverage in rural areas.
  • Need plans without unlimited talk and text
  • Appreciate good customer service.

So, if you are in the market for a non-contract wireless provider that can deliver a reliable, flexible, and feature-rich service, I highly recommend exploring AirVoice as your top choice. Tracphone can work well if you are in a rural area, but apart from that AirVoice performance is better, in coverage, price, device selection, plans, and payment flexibility.

Additionally, I recommend you visit the websites of both Carriers to find yourself extra details that maybe important to you, but I didn’t take into account. By doing this exploration, you will find extra benefits on both carriers for example, at the moment AirVoice Wireless is celebrating Memorial Day by offering discounts on their plans and up to 80% off on their devices. Also, Trackphone has an offer of 20% on certain plans.
